Image and Imagination
Image and Imagination explores the theme of inner landscapes.
The essentials of landscape; the moon: sun: stars: mountains:
valleys and water all figure strongly as archetypal symbols
in a series of images, that are a product of imaginative play
working through the unconscious.
Painting on Snow and Other Things
The impulse for this series of images was a heavy snowfall
in winter. Snow proved to be an interesting medium for painting
on with watercolour. The snow paintings were then photographed
to produce a digital image.
The emphasis of this series of images is art as play and
the potential of abstract art to produce images that mirror
the kind of detail in plant, planetary and animal life that
is normally captured by telescopic or microscopic imaging.
Self Portraiture
These images are part of a work in progress. Issues of female
identity and disability are explored through the childhood
game of dressing up.
Work in Progress
For the past year Paula has been working on publishing her novel Blue-Grey Island and putting together a collection of poetry. She is looking forward to producing some new art in 2010.
