I am a Midlands based artist and writer. I work with a variety of media, including digital imaging and encaustic wax on textiles.
I exhibit with the Tantalus Group, RAG (Rugby Artist's Group) and as a solo artist. Images from my solo exhibitions, ‘Image and Imagination’ (May 2003) and ‘Painting on Snow and Other Things’ (Sept 2004) can be seen on this web site, alongside some more recent collaborative exhibitions and current work in progress.
In June 2012 I exhibited with fellow artist Pete Thornley at Ryton Organic Gardens. Our collaboration - an outdoor installation entitled 'Sky Path' - was based on the symbolism of Tibetan colours as found on Tibetan prayer flags.
Working on Sky Path kindled an interest in Buddhist philosophy and I have studied/practiced Soto Zen Buddhism for the past few years. I anticipate that some of my future art/writing will be inspired by Buddhist philosophy.
Writing
I have always enjoyed writing poetry and novels. There is a selection of poetry and links to my other work within the writing galleries.
I have published two novels: 'Blue Grey Island' (2011) and 'Conversations with Leopard' (2015) Both works are available through Amazon, Amazon Kindle and all major book stores.
